\u25ba We will penetrate the bowels of mythical cities in Pakistan<\/h3>\n

Lahore<\/h4>\n

It was the historical center of the Mughal Empire<\/strong>. Today, it is the most beautiful city and the cultural, intellectual and artistic center of Pakistan<\/a><\/strong>. We will walk from the Delhi Gate to the heart of the old town of Lahore. We will visit the Badshahi Mosque<\/strong> (1647), as well as the Fort Complex<\/strong> with its palaces and tombs surrounded by Persian gardens.<\/p>\n

Rohtas Fort<\/h4>\n

\n
\n

On the way to Islamabad, we will make a stop at Rohtas Fort<\/strong>. After defeating the Mughal emperor Humayun in 1541, Sher Shah Suri built a strong fortified complex at Rohtas, a strategic site in the north of present-day Pakistan. It was never taken or raided and has survived intact to this day. This building is mainly made up of enormous walls, which extend for more than 4 km and are lined with bastions and crossed by monumental gates. Rohtas Fort, also called Qila Rohtas<\/strong>, is an exceptional example of early Muslim military architecture in Central and South Asia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Taxila<\/h4>\n

It is the political and cultural center of the Gandhara kingdom<\/strong>. It was built where the three main trade routes met: the Bactrian to Central Asia, the Kashmir to India and the Khunjerab Pass to China. We will visit this archaeological site, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.<\/p>\n

Peshawar<\/h4>\n

Peshawar<\/strong> is a mythical ancient city where history is breathed everywhere. City tour to visit Bala Hisar Fort, Museum, Mahabat Khan Mosque, Shinwar Square, Khyber and Khawani bazaars.<\/strong> In the old storyteller street<\/strong> we will observe a large number of Afghan refugees, mainly recognizable by the burqa worn by the women.<\/p>\n

We will visit the royal tombs of the Durrani family, the kings of Afghanistan who controlled the region until the 19th century, when the British conquered this area and annexed it to British India.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u25ba We will meet different ethnic groups<\/h3>\n

During this trip to Pakistan, we will learn about cultures such as the Pashtun, the Gandhara, the Mughal and the Gypsy<\/a><\/strong>. In Peshawar, we will visit some Sikh and Christian communities to learn about the forgotten ethnic minorities of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Gypsies or Khana Badosh<\/h4>\n

The Gypsy people<\/a><\/strong> are originally from the Indus Valley<\/strong> of Pakistan, from where they spread to the East to India and to the West, reaching the Iberian Peninsula in the 15th century. There, they created a culture with a unique point of view<\/strong>. This is what continues to connect them with their relatives in the East. We will visit one of the semi-nomadic camps on the outskirts of Peshawar.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Amalgamation of ancient cultures<\/h3>\n

The route of this trip to Pakistan is designed to follow the trail of many ancient cultures that left their mark on Pakistan. The Persian Empire, the Macedonia of Alexander the Great, and the Mauryan<\/strong> Empire are some of them.<\/p>\n
