Dhaka: Markets, Ports and Urban Life<\/h2>\n

The ethnographic trip to Bangladesh will begin in Dhaka, one of the most densely populated and dynamic cities in South Asia. From the very beginning, we will explore markets, ports and traditional neighbourhoods to understand the intensity of urban life in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

We will visit Kawran Bazar, the city\u2019s largest market, where we will witness everyday scenes shaped by the trade of fish, vegetables and poultry. In addition, we will explore Amin Bazar and the riverbanks, where we will observe the loading and unloading of bricks, sand and coal from traditional boats.<\/p>\n

During the ethnographic trip to Bangladesh, we will also immerse ourselves in Sadarghat, Dhaka\u2019s great river port. There, we will witness the constant flow of passengers and vessels along the Buriganga River. Moreover, we will cross the river to visit small shipyards and observe the traditional construction of wooden boats.<\/p>\n
