Inhassoro Coast and the Bazaruto Archipelago

Our trip to Mozambique will begin on the quiet coast of Inhassoro. Here we will discover a peaceful shoreline, perfect for easing into the local rhythm. Afterwards, we will venture into the Bazaruto Archipelago, a paradise known for its turquoise waters and vibrant marine life. We will sail to Santa Carolina Island, also called “Paradise Island”. There, we will snorkel above reefs filled with tropical fish, turtles and reef sharks. Alos, we will explore its abandoned colonial hotel, now reclaimed by nature. During this stage of the trip to Mozambique, we will enjoy remote beaches, long catamaran crossings and calm moments by the ocean. If the weather does not cooperate, we will follow alternative plans. We will reach BD Point by driving across long stretches of beach in a pick-up. Alos, we will snorkel in areas rarely visited by other travellers.

Zinave National Park: wildlife, savannahs and night safaris

We will continue our trip to Mozambique towards Zinave National Park. Along the way, we will cross rural villages and semi-wild landscapes before arriving at this vast protected area. Once settled, we will begin exploring its open plains during afternoon safaris. In the following days we will go on sunrise and sunset safaris. We will observe elephants, antelopes, zebras and birds of prey. Also, we will also walk near the camp and search for hippos and crocodiles along the Sabe River. Between activities, we will rest in the heart of nature and enjoy the tranquillity that defines this park. Zinave will reveal an unexpected side of Mozambique. Here, we will experience wide, untouched spaces without crowds, adding a more authentic dimension to our trip to Mozambique.

Mavanza’s baobabs and local life

We will then travel towards the region of Mavanza, known for its ancient baobabs. On the way, we will stop in small villages and local markets. Later, we will enjoy traditional food in simple roadside eateries. This part of the trip to Mozambique will bring us closer to local culture and its relaxed pace. Among the baobabs we will find landscapes shaped like natural sculptures. We will walk through the area and admire their giant forms, especially beautiful at sunset.

Praia do Tofo: ocean safaris and marine wildlife

We will finally reach Praia do Tofo, one of the great highlights of the trip to Mozambique. Here, we will spend several days exploring the Indian Ocean and its impressive megafauna. During the ocean safaris, we will search for humpback whales, whale sharks, mantas and dolphins. Also, we will explore the Inhambane estuary and Pansy Island, famous for its sandbank and distinctive shells. In addition, we will snorkel in areas where seahorses often hide. We will also cycle along the coast on fat bikes. Along the way we will see endless beaches, coastal caves, palm groves and the historic Boa Gente factory. With a bit of luck, we will spot whales from the shore. Optional activities will include kayaking through mangroves, cultural visits and traditional pottery workshops. This final stage of the trip to Mozambique will combine adventure, culture and the ocean in perfect balance.
