This ethnographic trip to Mali is designed to attend the Ogobagna Festival of the Dogon tribe and get to know different traditional tribes of the country, such as the Mandinkas, Bambaras and Bozos.

This ethnographic trip to Mali offers the unique opportunity to learn about Mali's most vibrant cultures. The trip will start in Bamako, where we will attend the Ogobagna Festival. There, we will enjoy the culture and mask dances of the Dogon people. We will travel to the beautiful Mandinga Mountains, where we will learn about the Mandinka worldview. We will follow the course of the Niger River to the north to meet the fishermen Bozo tribe. In Segou, we will have the opportunity to experience the magic of canoe racing and concerts at the Festival in the Niger. Finally, we will arrive at the Bambara tribal area, where we will visit the descendant of the Emperor.

► We will attend the Ogobagna Festival of the Dogon tribe

We will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the enigmatic Dogon culture at the Ogobagna Festival in Bamako. In addition, we will be able to admire their dances with all kinds of masks, including the iconic kanaga mask. The mask is believed to have the power to connect the living to the spirit world.

► We will meet different tribes of Mali

This trip will offer to the traveler the opportunity to learn about the worldview of the Mandinka people. We will meet with different groups of traditional Mandingo trades: traditional doctors, Dozo hunters, Dabali miners and troubadours. Also, we will attend a divination ceremony, as well as a traditional music performance. In addition, we will also visit all kinds of traditional constructions such as houses, barns, etc.

Throughout this trip to Mali we will visit the Bozo and Bambara tribe with the aim of better understanding their cultures.

► We will enjoy a rich variety of architectural styles

During the trip we will visit different adobe buildings, palaces and mosques of the well-known Sudano-Sahelian architecture.

In some Mandinka villages we will can admire the beautiful vernacular architecture of the houses and granaries.

In Bamako and Segou we will enjoy some examples of Art Deco style buildings.
