02nd - 11st April 2023 (10 d. / 8 n.) / TRIP COMPLETED

Ethno-historical trip to Angola , one of the most interesting countries in Africa and also one of the least visited. Its landscapes, Portuguese colonial heritage and traditional tribes make Angola a kind of 'new Ethiopia'.

The trip will begin in the north of the country. We will land in Luanda, where we will visit the artisan market and the colonial neighborhood. We will have the opportunity to see the viewpoint of the Moon. We will cross beautiful baobab forests to reach Muxima. We will enjoy a canoe excursion on the Kwanza River to a village where we will meet with the Kimbundu ethnic group.

We will fly to the southern capital, Lubango. There will begin the second stage of the trip where we will meet different ethnic groups: the Mountian and Plain Muila, the Khoisan and the Nguendelengo. The tour will continue south until reaching Namibe, a beautiful city with interesting Art Deco architecture. We will have the opportunity to explore the desert of Iona, the oldest on earth. Near the oases of Arco and Curoca we will meet a Cuepe community.

The route combines nature visits with a tour of remote areas in the south to live with some of the most spectacular ethnic groups in Angola. Throughout the trip we will travel by minibus and 4x4 vehicles and we will stay in hotels.
